The faculty of the Department of History at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a 9-month, full time, tenure track position
at the rank of Assistant Professor in West African History to begin August 16, 2026.
The position requires a PhD at the time of appointment, and a strong research and teaching agenda. The successful candidate should present evidence of a strong scholarly record and will be expected to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate courses and graduate level courses in their areas of interest. The field of research is open but should complement department strengths.
The American University of Paris - Assistant Professor of Art History
The American University of Paris invites applications for a full-time position in the Department of Art History and Fine Arts at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning 1 August 2026. The Department seeks a candidate who works on a period pre-1900 and specializes in a geographic region outside Europe such as Asia, Africa, the Middle East, colonial Latin America, or the Indigenous arts of the Americas or Oceania. The ability to teach in more than one geographic area is desirable. Art historians with a disciplinary interest in anthropology, architecture, and/or material culture are especially welcome to apply.
